Years ago I coined the acronym C.R.A.P. for the Christian Right-wing American Patriots, and for good reason. Although, let me emphasize that many of the rank and file calling themselves by those names are good-hearted people. But, we can no longer play the game of half-measures. New-agers are fond of the phrase "paradigm shift." That is indeed what we must have if we are to accomplish the 14 Words. But the new paradigm must be nothing like that envisioned by new-agers, established religions, etc. The Creator, whatever that means to you, made lions to eat lambs, wolves to eat rabbits, hawks to eat sparrows, and so on. There is no "love, love, love" involved, just "law," evidenced in the work of the Creator, or as some say, Nature's Laws... brutal, pitiless, unyielding natural law, to which every living thing is subject.

Conduct, practice, is the proof of doctrine, theory. "If any man will do His will - the will of Him that sent me," said Jesus, "he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself" (John vii. 17); and there is a well known saying of Pascal: "Begin by taking holy water and you will end by becoming a believer." And pursuing a similar train of thought, Johann Jakob Moser, the pietist, was of the opinion that no atheist or naturalist had the right to regard the Christian religion as void of truth so long as he had not put it to the proof by keeping its precepts and commandments (Ritschl, Geschichte des Pietismus, book viii., 43).
Miguel de Unamuno
Aghast, Tauno exclaimed, "but this is frightful!”
"Oh? Many would count it glorious good fortune.”
His eye stabbed at hers. "Would you?”
"Well... No.”
"Locked among bleak brick walls for all her days; shorn, harshly clad, ill-fed, droning through her nose at God while letting wither that which God put between her legs; never to know love, children about her, the growth of home and kin, or even wanderings under apple trees in blossom time....”
"Tauno, it is the way to eternal bliss.”
"Hm. Rather would I have my bliss now, and then the dark. You, too-in your heart-not so?-whether or not you have said you mean to repent on your deathbed. Your Christian Heaven seems to me a shabby place to spend forever.”.
Poul Anderson
Healing physical sickness is the smallest part of Christian Science. It is only the bugle-call to thought and action, in the higher range of infinite goodness. The emphatic purpose of Christian Science is the healing of sin; and this task, sometimes, may be harder than the cure of disease; because, while mortals love to sin, they do not love to be sick. Hence their comparative acquiescence in your endeavors to heal them of bodily ills, and their obstinate resistance to all efforts to save them from sin through Christ, spiritual Truth and Love, which redeem them, and become their Saviour, through the flesh, from the flesh, - the material world and evil.
