Not surprisingly, some of the super-rich declined to join the Patriotic Millionaires when the Agenda Project reached out to them. At least two airily dismissed the Bush tax cuts for millionaires and above - which will cost well over $700 billion over the coming decade - as small potatoes.

EU countries lose approximately €1,000 billion with tax avoidance. If Finland would receive of this €1,000 billion 1 % in relation to its population in the EU, it would be €10 billion. The famous deficit would be fixed up. If tax avaidance is not restricted we continue to have deficits and budget cuts.

Obama and the Democrats' preposterous argument is that we are just one more big tax increase away from solving our economic problems. The inescapable conclusion, however, is that the primary driver of the short-term deficit is not tax cuts but the lack of any meaningful economic growth over the last half decade.
