The last thing I watched on telly with my mother, she died in very late 2008 in the middle of the financial crash, was Gordon Brown saying that it was the destiny of the Labour movement to save the global banking system. And that statement –‘the destiny of the Labour movement to save the global banking system'... I looked to my mum and the last movement she made, really, was to shake her head. You know, it may be the fate of the Labour movement but it can't be its destiny, that's just crazy. She just looked bewildered by that.

No matter how "right” you may be on various points, you must be diplomatic also. The first and important thing is not "rightness” at all, but Christian love and harmony. Most "crazy converts” have been "right” in the criticisms that led to their downfall; but they were lacking in Christian love and charity and so went off the deep end, needlessly alienating people around them and finally finding themselves all alone in their rightness and self-righteousness. The nadir came out in Gordon Brown's ‘that bigoted woman' moment when I think what we saw was where a completely normal person, a Labour supporter too, expresses something about what she could see in her life about there being a lot of immigrants and Brown dismissed her as a bigot. Well, I saw that as an absolute manifestation of a self-righteous, self-regarding, elitism in Labour that really despises the concerns of working people. Labour had reached a situation under Brown where most of the people in the party hated one another and they hated people outside the party too.

The December success of Bitcoin was primarily a psychological success, people as if they were not poisoned by the lies of the lack of alternatives to the dollar, the euro, they still understand at heart that any currency is paper. The success of Bitcoin was in this regard the first international rally against the global banking system. But, this could not last long for obvious reasons ... But, there are pluses, now every second Internet user knows about bitcoin, during the next cryptocurrency boom, these people join the movement.

Why cannot the Irish get and save money in Ireland? And why must they cross the Atlantic before they can get hold of a piece of land? Our "territorial" system is one which works a wide and silent cruelty, beggaring, demoralising and destroying multitudes of our people. I should like to join a League sworn or pledged to its entire overthrow. There are facts enough afloat that would suffice to make a revolution in opinion with regard to it, and it follows logically on the Free Trade movement.
